Financial Toxicity” in cancer patients has been in the spotlight recently, and I thought your readers may be interested in learning about a local resource that may be able to help if they or their families are facing these challenges. Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) is a local 501(c)(3) organization that provides assistance to cancer patients throughout Metro Atlanta – including Rockdale County – who are dealing with financial challenges because of the disease.

I have attached a press release with a bit more information about how ACCF is addressing financial toxicity, especially through our “Making a Difference for More than 1,000” campaign. We get it that life is busy and we are seemingly pushed into making the most of our time. The temptations are right there calling on us, digging into any sense of relaxation or peace we still have. But for Crying Out Loud! This is AN ADDICTION! And IT NEEDS TO STOP! We noticed this woman was on her cellphone, social-networking for almost a half mile on busy Highway 138. Ridiculous. It needs to stop; your life is at stake, and so is mine!
